Taste Washington 2012

Another Taste Washington has come and gone.  There were a few changes to the format this year. The grand tasting was split into 2 days, instead of 1 day, like in year's past.  I was only able to make it to Sunday, so I didn't get the entire Taste Washington experience.  However, I will say that from my own experience that it seemed way more laid back and relaxed.  I didn't feel crowed and I was really able to speak with the winemakers and vendors.  After attending Taste Washington for many years, this was the best year ever!

I got to visit some of my favorite wineries including Fidelitas, GamacheVintners, Treveri Cellars (Sparkling Syrah!), Adams Bench and Cooper.  Plus I was also able to make some new discoveries: Market Vineyards, Obelisco Estate, Jacob Williams Winery (Zin!), and Elsom Cellars.

The food this year did not disappoint.  Highlights were to lemon pasta from Tuscany Rustic Italian Bistro, poached spot prawn with Absolut Citron cocktail sauce from Alderbrook Resort, halibut ceviche with pepper confetti and popcorn from Palisade Restaurant and I am still dreaming about that salted caramel ice cream from Molly Moon.

Big kudos to Seattle Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Washington State Wine Commission for putting on a spectacular event.  Job well done!  See you next year.
